This is a small but mighty beautiful piece of banded onyx that has been wrapped with the tree of life design with the tiniest of seed beed accents.
 
The concept of a tree of life, a many-branched tree illustrating the idea that all life on earth is related, has been used in science, religion, philosophy, mythology, and other areas. A tree of life is variously:
 
a) A motif in various world theologies, mythologies, and philosophies
b) A mystical concept alluding to the interconnectedness of all life on our planet
c) And a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense.
 
This piece measures approximately 1" inch (2.54​​​ cm) across and approximately 1 1/2" inch (3.81​​ cm) from the top of the bail to the bottom of the piece.
 
The pendant will come strung on a 27" inch (68.58 cm) satin cord. A 16" or 18" sterling silver chain can be purchased separately if you choose.
